APPLY to NTCA TOT Advisory Committee Open Seats

The North Tahoe Community Alliance is seeking candidates for two open at large seats on the TOT Advisory Committee:

  • One at large seat* (see at large seat requirements below) 
  • One at large seat* (see at large seat requirements below)

*Representation Categories (at-large seat must fit one or more of these categories):  

  • Geographic representation of residence or business ownership (Kings Beach, Tahoe City/WestShore, Olympic Valley, Northstar, Donner Summit) 
  • Resident representation - Residents of the NLT TOT District  
  • Underserved/DEI representation - Representing underserved community needs, focusing on increasing diversity, access, inclusivity, and equity  
  • Small business representation – Employers of the NLT TOT region who have less than 100 employees  
  • Large business representation - Employers of NLT TOT region who have 100 or more employees  
  • Stewardship/environmental representation - Focuses on developing and/or implementing destination stewardship principles in the region   
  • Previous TOT/CAP experience representation – Current members of TOT or CAP committee  
  • Cultural, art, and nonprofit representation – Representing arts and culture in the North Lake Tahoe region and/or other nonprofit representation 
  • TOT contributor - Representative from a lodging business that generates TOT funds 
  • TBID contributor - Representative from a business that generates TBID funds  
  • Land use expertise in local/regional ecosystem  
  • Transportation expertise/advocate 
  • Housing expertise/ advocate  
  • Recreation provider representation  
  • Ski area representation  


The TOT Advisory Committee will be comprised of 13 voting seats and three advisory non-voting seats. The seats represent regional community representatives who will recommend TOT funding for projects and programs aligning with community priorities identified in the TOT-TBID Dollars at Work Program. These priorities include but are not limited to economic health, community vitality, environmental stewardship, and include projects/programs such as workforce housing, transportation, and infrastructure. Funding recommendations will be made to the NTCA Board of Directors, who then vote to recommend expenditures funded by Transient Occupancy Tax to the Placer County Board of Supervisors for final approval.  

Committee Responsibilities: 

  • Committee positions require a two-year commitment.
  • Typically 1 meeting per month that lasts 1-3 hours per meeting. 
  • Additional time is required during the project review grant cycle processes and includes reviewing, ranking, and commenting on applications.

Applicants will be notified before August 6, 2025 if they have been recommended to the committee for NTCA Board of Directors approval at their August 6, 2025 meeting. APPLY to NTCA Zone 1 Committee Open Seat

The North Tahoe Community Alliance is seeking candidates for 1 open seat on the Zone 1 Committee 

  • One at large seat on the Zone 1 Committee* 

*the At Large position could be a Zone 1 assessed lodging business, or an assessed TBID business in general

The Zone 1 Advisory Committee makes recommendations on the use and implementation of TBID funds specifically allocated to eastern Placer County lakeside communities generated primarily by assessed lakeside lodging businesses. The committee is comprised of seven seats with four seats being assessed lodging business owners in Zone 1 or their duly appointed representatives and three at-large seats.

Committee Responsibilities: 

  • Committee positions require a two-year commitment.
  • Typically 1 meeting per month that lasts 1-2 hours per meeting. 
  • Additional time is required during the project review grant cycle processes and includes reviewing, ranking, and commenting on applications.
